Top 3 NIHL Players of Week 14
1. Jake Bricknell - Swindon Wildcats
The Canadian had a fantastic weekend and helped the Swindon Wildcats to a maximum four points. On Saturday night he assisted the opening goal and scored in the Cats 5-2 win against the Hull Seahawks. Then on Sunday he scored twice and added another to assists making it 6 points across the weekend. A great weekend for him and the Cats who now sit comfortably third only a few points behind the Lightning.
2. Nolan Gardiner - Solway Sharks
The Canadian forward had a weekend of many goals in the Solway Sharks double headers against the Berkshire Bees. On Saturday he scored five goals to help the Sharks to a 9-3 win. Then on Sunday he added another hat-trick in a 6-3 win to make it a four-point weekend and put the Sharks in a play off spot ahead of the Tigers. An impressive weekend for Nolan who also now sits top of the goalscoring in the NIHL.
3. Matt Barron - Leeds Knights
And to complete the Canadian trio we have Matt Barron who also helped his team to a four-point weekend. On Saturday night he got the Knights first goal for their teddy bear toss. He then assisted the third goal as well. On Sunday night he scored another and assisted a further two goals taking his total to 5 points on the weekend and puts the Knights level on points at the top of the NIHL with the Lightning.
Honourable mentions:
Dima Zimozdra had a great game on Sunday as he produced a 40 save shutout against the Bristol Pitbulls. Bobby Chamberlain scored three across the weekend. Liam Danskin got three assists across the weekend for the Sharks. And Walker Sommer scored four across the weekend including two in the Steeldogs win against the Pitbulls.
