Top 3 NIHL players of the week

Top 3 NIHL players of the week
The opening weekend of the 24/25 NIHL season saw many stand out performances, but these are our top three players of the week

1. Finn Bradon

Our number one star is 18-year-old Finn Bradon who scored an impressive hat-trick on Saturday night against the Solway Sharks. The Knights went on to beat the Sharks 8-5 with Bradon getting four points on the night. He then scored another goal on the Sunday night against the MK Lightning and added a further two assists in that game. Overall, this weekend he scored seven points and was a massive piece of the dominant third line which Leeds have got this season.

2. Emil Svec

Svec had a phenomenal weekend and is currently sat at the top of the points table with 10. On Saturday night against Bristol, he scored four goals and added four assists meaning he was involved in eight of the 11 goals Hull scored. Then on Sunday night he added another two assists in their 9-1 win at home to Bristol.

3. Nolan Gardiner

Gardiner scored 50 goals in the NIHL last season and after the first weekend of the new season he is already on pace to get more than that. In the Sharks 8-5 defeat to the Knights, Nolan still scored a Hat-trick and caused the reigning league champions a lot of problems. But the goals did not stop their as he scored another two on Sunday against the Tigers which helped the Sharks get their first win of the season. He also added a further two assists across the weekend putting his total to seven after just two games.

Honorable mentions

There were many more players who could have made the top three which include Owen Sobchak who also scored 10 points this weekend on a line with Svec. Bristol’s Bayley Harewood and Leed's Matt Barron both got hat-tricks this weekend. Jason Hewitt currently leads the way with assists on eight and Swindon Wildcats goaltender Renny Marr was the stand out of the weekend with a 92.65 save percentage.
