Top 3 NIHL Players Of Playoffs Week 1
1. Tomasz Malasinski
The Swindon Wildcats import had a fantastic two games in their four-point weekend over the Sheffield Steeldogs. On Saturday night he was involved in every goal, scoring twice and assisting the other two. Then on Sunday he added another assist and was a key part of the Wildcats win on the road. He takes the number one spot.
2. Jordan Buesa
The Leeds Knights picked up a four-point weekend to start the playoffs and Buesa was a huge part of that. On Saturday night he kickstarted the game with an important goal for the Knights in their victory on the road. Then on Sunday he scored twice and assisted another which included an absolute thunderblast slapshot past Brad Day. He takes the number two spot.
3. Jordan Cownie
He might not have got on the score-sheet this weekend but he was a vital part of the MK Lightning’s four-point weekend against the Raiders. On Saturday he provided two assists in their crazy overtime victory. Then on Sunday he assisted six of the seven goals scored which leaves him the top point scorer so far in the playoffs. He takes third spot this weekend.
Honourable Mentions:
Despite no points this weekend for the Steeldogs, Dan Crowe had a great two games against the Wildcats saving 79 shots across the weekend. Harry Gulliver scored a hat-trick against the Raiders on the Sunday. Mac Howlett had a five point weekend with two goals and two assists on the Sunday. Patrick Forsberg had a monster weekend with three goals and two assists. And finally Dima Zinozdra saved 44/46 shots on Saturday night to earn the Seahawks two points against the Phantoms.
