Game Review Panel: Saturday 5th April 2025
The Game Review Panel have adjudicated and reviewed the following penalties from Saturday 5th April 2025 game play as follows:

The following penalties have been reviewed, and the players are available to play in the next game (subject to the teams reviewing accumulated player personal penalty points):

Milton Keynes Lightning #86 Sean Norris

Rule 46 – Fighting @ 36:44

The penalty assessed on MK #86 for the incident at 36.44 was assessed under the wrong rule section.

The player was assessed a Game misconduct third man Rule 46.7 in for being the first to intervene in an altercation underway, and 5 Minute major fighting.

On reviewing the video footage, it is apparent that the original altercation between MK#33 & Swindon #3 was over and both players assessed minors for roughing. As this altercation had ended and the players separated there was no altercation in progress, therefore third man in does not apply.

The correct penalty assessment for this incident should be rule 46.3 Instigator / initiator

46.3. INSTIGATOR / INITIATOR

An “Instigator / Initiator” of an “altercation” shall be a Player who by their actions or demeanour demonstrates any/some of the following criteria: distance travelled; gloves off first; first punch thrown; menacing attitude or posture; verbal instigation or threats; conduct in retaliation to a prior game incident; obvious retribution for a previous incident in the game.

A Player who is deemed to be the “Instigator / Initiator” of an “altercation” shall be assessed a Minor Penalty (Instigator / Initiator) plus a Major Penalty (“Fighting”) and an automatic Game Misconduct Penalty (2’+5’+GMP).

The player revives 5 penalty points and is free to play subject to accumulated penalty points.

Swindon Wildcats #3 Balint Pakozdi

Rule 46 – Fighting @ 36:44

The penalty assessed a 5 Minute fighting penalty is correct for the situation under Rule 46.6- Defender

The player defended himself with a few punches against the opposition player who instigated the fighting situation

The player receives 1 penalty point and is free to play subject to accumulated penalty points.

The following penalties have been reviewed and have been sent to EIH Department of Player Safety:

No penalties were sent to DOPS.
