Statement From The Berkshire Bees

Statement From The Berkshire Bees
The Club would like to issue the following statement:

Over the past number of weeks, the Directors and the Club have been pursuing a number of options to secure the finances and longevity of the Club.

We are pleased with the progress that has been made, with continuing very positive discussions being held regarding long term investment into the Team. However, it has become apparent that these negotiations will conclude too late to ice a team in the 2025/26 season.

Regrettably, the Directors have had to take the decision to inform the League of the intention to take one year out of the National League and concentrate on securing the Clubs future over the next 12 months with the further intention to ice a team again in the 2026/27 season. As such, the club has informed all players of this situation, and any that were signed to a contract have been released into free agency.

The Director Team and others will be concentrating hard on making progress to secure the long term investment and infrastructure to secure the long term viability of the team and the Club will continue to provide updates on progress when it is appropriate to do so.

The Directors and the Club would also like to deliver some heartfelt thankyous to everyone who has offered help in any capacity, and also to a group of supporters who have been leading some “fan based” initiatives that has shown some real love for this Club and Team.

The Club, working with the Supporter Club and fan groups are still planning a number of events over the next 12 months to keep our fan base updated and involved in the club as we progress towards a better and secure future. Please keep an eye on the Bees social media outlets for announcements and also details of those events over the coming weeks and months.
