Top 3 NIHL players of week six!
1. Finley Howells
With the Telford Tigers having a three game weekend it would be Finley Howells who stepped up and had a fantastic weekend. He primary assisted three goals on Friday away in Sheffield including the overtime winner and then scored two huge goals on Sunday against the Hull Seahawks helping the Tigers to an important four points across the weekend.
2. Matt Bissonnette
The Leeds Knights we’re the first team to beat the Romford Raiders at the Sapphire this season and Matt Bissonnette was a key reason for that getting three assists in the game including the assist for the game winning goal. He then scored and assisted on Sunday night against the MK Lightning, he also scored his penalty shot but the Knights just fell short on the shootout but that could be a big point for the Knights and Bissonnette was fantastic this weekend.
3. Ryan Wells
The Swindon Wildcats had just the one game this weekend and it would be the defensemen Ryan Wells who was the stand out performer. He scored his first Wildcats goal and assisted a further three goals on the night making it a four point game. He has been brilliant for the Wildcats this season and has fit next to Ed Bradley very well.
Honourable mentions:
Janne Laakkonen had a ridiculous Sunday night where he scored six points! Bayley Harewood stood out for the Bristol Pitbulls as he scored twice and assisted on Friday against the Lightning and added another two assists on the Saturday. Tanner Butler also got a three point night in the Pitbulls 3-2 win away in Slough. Nolan Gardiner and Jake Bricknell both scored hattricks in their games on Saturday night. Whilst Brad Day had a stellar performance on Friday saving 45/48 shots against the Steeldogs in a 4-3 overtime win.
