5 + Game Misconduct Rule 48 – Illegal Check to the Head, penalty assessed is correct

It has been determined that a check at 31.54 in the second period by Leeds Player #9 was to the head of Sheffield Player #9.

The check meets the requirements of Rule 48 Illegal Check to the head or neck, specifically section 48.1 (I) (II) & (III).

The primary point of contact was to the head causing reckless endangerment to the Sheffield Player.

The player is assessed a 5 + Game misconduct, this will carry 5 penalty points, and as a Tariff 1 offence the player will be suspended for 3 games.
