The Game Review Panel & EIH DOPS have adjudicated and reviewed a DRS video request from Hull Seahawks during their fixture on Sunday 10th November 2024.

Milton Keynes Lightnings #28 Tim Wallace

The DRS review is upheld.

A DRS review was requested of an incident at 17:27 of the first period of the game when Hull #11 was checked by Milton Keynes #28 in mid ice, there was no call on the play.

There is no legal check to the head, and all checks to the head must be penalised, under rule 48.3 this should have been assessed as a 5 + Game Misconduct penalty due to the following factors:

The check did make contact with the head of the Hull #11 and the force used was not minimal and caused reckless endangerment.

Rule 48.1 (v)

In mitigation The Milton Keynes player#28 attempted to check squarely through the body and the head contact was simultaneous, the head was not the primary impact point, the head was not picked or targeted, but the contact was incidental and simultaneous with the legal body check

As there was an illegal check to the head, the Milton Keynes player #28 will receive a 5 + Game misconduct penalty, 5 penalty points and is free to play subject to accumulated penalty points
