Jeff Flanagan announced as new Basingstoke Bison head coach!

Flanagan brings a wealth of international coaching experience to the Herd, having held head coaching roles across Canada, the United States, Europe, and Asia. Most recently, he served as an Assistant Coach at the University of Guelph in USports, the top level of Canadian university hockey. His global coaching journey includes leading the Yokohama Grits in Japan’s Asia League and stints behind the bench in Italy, the ECHL, and several respected Canadian junior programs.

This appointment sees Flanagan return to familiar ground, having previously served as an Assistant Coach with the Bison during the 2004/05 Elite Ice Hockey League season.

On his return, Jeff said "I am excited to be a part of the Bison's return to Basingstoke, and it feels like a bit of a homecoming for me. I know the passion that the fans have for the Bison, and I am looking forward to icing a team that the community can be proud of!"

Flanagan’s track record includes developing young talent, building competitive rosters, and bringing a professional approach to every level he’s worked at. His leadership will be vital as the Bison continue to push forward on and off the ice and be a competitive team in the Planet Ice NIHL National.

We’re confident he’s the right person to lead the Bison into a new era.”
